JD is a born and raised Michigander who moved to the West Coast with their husband a little over a decade ago. Their love of Seattle and Portland has them travelling to both frequently to check out new bookstores, thrift for vintage 90's windbreakers, and go to as many metal concerts as they can drag their wifey to.

JD loves to create fun, often ridiculous hand embroidery, and does so while watching hockey or their favorite channels on YouTube. When they’re not at home cooking yummy dinners for their partners, they can be found transforming into a muppet of chaos at their favorite metal bands’ shows around Washington and Oregon, or acquiring an essential Little Treat™ before rummaging in the local thrift store, in search of book treasures or hilariously bad t-shirts.

While they won’t turn their nose up to many romance genres, JD mostly reads a mixture of contemporary and paranormal, with a special love and appreciation for books centered on kink. Some of their favorite tropes include dark romance, hurt/comfort, enemies to lovers, and grumpy/sunshine.
